Argentinian Wine Dinner - Catena Zapata
Wednesday, January 10, 2024
6 PM RECEPTION - 6:30 PM SEATED DINNER
Catena Zapata, founded in 1902 by Italian immigrant Nicola Catena, is known for its pioneering role in resurrecting Malbec from its declining popularity in Bordeaux and in discovering extremely high-altitude terroirs in the Andean foothills of Mendoza, Argentina. It is the oldest Argentine family winery and is currently run by Nicola’s grandson, Nicolás Catena Zapata, and his daughter, Laura Catena. Nicolás is one of the most decorated winemakers alive, and Laura created the Catena Institute of Wine, which develops Argentina’s sustainability code and collaborates with top universities to help Argentinian wines reach their full potential. In 2023, Catena Zapata was voted number one in the World’s Best Vineyards Awards and won best overall South American vineyard. Brand Manager Jorge Liloy will be joining us for this first wine dinner at Backstreet for the new year! Scroll to the bottom of the page to purchase your tickets. ¡Salud!
